Some Basic Concepts on How To Lose Weight
The main reason for you coming to read this article and a site visit is some basic advice on how to lose weight and hopefully information that is presented to you within is article will be useful and an aid to your weight loss.
Here are some important points that you need to consider in order to lose weight effectively they aren’t in any particular order but as long as you implement most of them then you should be able to get yourself in the right frame of mind for losing weight.
So here are the points you need to consider:
1. start by making a food log or journal this may sound like the simplest thing you could ever imagine what is surprising that how many people actually don’t do this simple step I can’t stress how important this is to do the whole reason being most of us tend to eat unconsciously rather than consciously and what tends to happen over a period of time is even though you tend to think you are eating right this may not be the case.
I’ve lost count the amount of times I’ve seen people on various TV programmes trying to lose weight and when asked what they’d been eating they tend to talk about what their main focus of eating has been but they still carry on eating things which they shouldn’t eat.
2. Use a smaller plate rather than a big one this again is just such a simple thing but it’s surprising how much difference it can make have you ever heard your parents voice in your head saying make sure you eat everything the plate. These are all habits that have tended to become learned behaviour throughout your lifetime Sun which you may not even realise that you have.
3. Incorporate exercise into your daily routine this is so easy to do when you’re at home do housework as in cleaning, wash your car, if you own a dog take it out for walks, if you drive everywhere in your car don’t. Just making some daily changes can make a huge difference to the exercise, you are or aren’t getting. Instead of using your car why not go on a bus but instead of walking to the nearest bus stop walk about five stops away from your house you get some exercise in the process.
All so take the stairs instead of the elevator and don’t use escalators , all of these things encourage lazy habits and it’s all unconscious behaviour yet again. Exercise doesn’t need to be boring and mundane you don’t need to go to a gym if you don’t want to even a simple stepper will give you all the exercise you need in a week and it can also give you exercise why you watch TV or listen to music.
4. Eat consciously this means eating without emotional attachment to food, one of the biggest problems that people have is turning to food for comfort it’s so easy to do this and before you know it you have a comfort eating habit you probably won’t even realise you are doing it
5. Eat slowly I cannot begin to emphasize how important this is all too often in our society we have our plates loaded up with food normally these are the big plates with a mountain of food on them, and we have trained our brains to eat everything on the plate even if we don’t need it, the big problem with this is it takes roughly 20 minutes for your brain to register the fact that your stomach is full so within that period of time if you eat more than you need to then you’re going into the realms of gaining weight.
Studies have shown that if you eat slowly you’re far less likely to gain weight and you will eat less food this may seem quite surprising but in fact it isn’t a, study was done in Sweden where people were blindfolded and told to eat the food that was before them, compared to a group who wasn’t blindfolded the group that wasn’t blindfolded ate less food so there is something to think about when you have a big plate of food before you, you don’t necessarily need to eat all of it and eat it like you’re having a race.
6. Keep a progress log of your weight and your waist measurement it has been proven in various studies that writing things down people are more successful than people who don’t it doesn’t necessarily have to be anything fancy, you can do a simple table in word with the date your waist size and your weight loss weigh yourself once a week on the same day every week and make sure you do it otherwise how will you know how you are doing if you have no feedback to encourage yourself.
7. Make sure when you go shopping you don’t buy anything that can sabotage your efforts it’s so easy to walk around in a supermarket looking at all the nice food that you could be eating but this will only sabotage your efforts you need to stay focused and committed otherwise if you take that food home with you you almost certainly eat it.
